Welcome to Florida
Modeling Jobs, a free modeling job resource web site from Florida Models
and Independent Modeling!
On the Florida Modeling Jobs web site, we are only auditioning for our
modeling jobs. Second and third party modeling job offers (i.e. job offers
from others) can be found on the relevant, respective modeling job boards
of Independent Modeling, Florida Models, and Tampa Bay Modeling.
Our modeling jobs are not specific at this time, but we are accepting
submissions from professional models.
To submit your information for our modeling jobs, please mail us a composite
card, a resume, and a cover letter to P.O. Box 1224, Riverview, FL 33568-1224.
We will retain your information for at least two years and will consider
you for our projects, and, if we are interested and you are relevant for
the job requirements, which includes minimal conflicts of interest, we
will contact you.
There is NO COST to be considered for our jobs, and you are not obligated,
in any way, to buy any products or services from us or any party which
we are affiliated with to be considered for our modeling jobs.
All modeling jobs, too, are booked on a subcontracted basis, meaning that
the model is not hired by us, is not an employee, and would be working
as an independent contractor (our jobs are NOT offers of employment in
any way, and this needs to be understood. Any claims of employment with
us from any model is misrepresentation, and not true). Terms and limits
apply; please see the agreement for the job which you are being booked
into for more, and feel free to ask any questions about that specific
job at that time. In general, however, things such as insurance and payroll
taxes are the sole responsibility of the model (for more information,
please look up regulations and requirements of running any business in
Florida. Models, regardless of being agency represented or not, are independent
contractors, and are a self-contained business. If you do not understand
this or are not capable of running your own business, then you should
not be a model until you do).
Also, we are NOT a modeling or talent agency, and we do NOT, and CANNOT,
make any money by referring models to any second or third party job, nor
are we acting as or conducting business as an agency in any capacity.
We don’t make any money by booking models into our jobs, as well,
as the model makes money directly from the job, and so do we, as the producers
of that job.
Our jobs, which pay and include modeling photography events, industry
workshops, and other projects, are for professional models only. Models
submitting for these jobs are required to have a current modeling portfolio,
composite cards, and experience to be considered. Models who try to market
themselves on free profiles on modeling portfolio networking sites such
as MM and OMP are NOT considered to be professional models, and are not
eligible, UNLESS they have a real portfolio, comps, and experience. The
same goes for “models” who try to model on Facebook.
This is not just our requirement, either. Trust us when we say that the
only way that any legitimate modeling job will take you seriously is if
you have the appropriate, and professional, marketing tools we just described.
Although we do prefer to work with professional independent, also known
as freelance, models without an agency involved, we also consider working
with models referred to us from talent agencies, although the additional
overhead of such as referrals cannot be ignored. If you are referred to
us by an agency, you are going to have to be really, really experienced,
as well as worth it, to justify the additional expense on our part. Agency
representation alone, too, it must be understood, does nothing to enhance
the credibility of any model, nor should it, unless the agency is willing
to vet the model and guarantee them and their professionalism in writing.
It is no surprise, and of no consequence, that we have yet to see any
agency willing to guarantee the models whom they refer in writing, which
makes sense because the agency works FOR the model, and not the other
way around.
If you ARE NOT a professional model, are just starting out, or do not
have the appropriate professional tools such as a modeling portfolio or
composite cards, you are going to have to invest in them in order to compete
with professional models for work. Although our Tampa Bay photography
and design services company, Aurora PhotoArts, does offer these services,
which you may check out by clicking on the ad to your upper right, you
are NOT, in any way, obligated to buy any products or services from Aurora
PhotoArts in order to be considered for our modeling jobs.
This said, if you do not have composite cards and a portfolio, and are
not a professional model, then you have no business trying to book work
as a model until you get that taken care of. If anyone is advertising
a modeling jobs and then requires you to buy something from them in order
to be considered, in our opinion, and experience, it is a scam, especially
since if you are in need of these services you are ineligible to be considered
for any modeling job to begin with, and, if you are a professional model
with comp cards and a portfolio, you don’t need any services, and
they should be able to accept you as you are, without trying to sell you
something that you do not need (which is beside the point).
No experience necessary? Don’t believe it! We have never seen any
legitimate modeling job book models without professional experience, and,
in all cases, scams are the only ones making the claim that no experience
is necessary! Don’t get ripped off!
Additionally, modeling jobs which do not pay the models, such as runway
fashion shows for “charity”, are not real modeling jobs. If
the event organizers make money, the models need to make money, too! The
entire point of working any modeling job is to get paid, and if they can’t
pay you, it’s not worth it!
Links
to the modeling job boards on our three regional modeling resource web
sites will go active once the boards are operational. This should be by
Summer 2014. Until then, there is a lot of useful information and free
career tools on the sites themselves. Thank you for your patience!
Independent
Modeling Job Board
The source of all of the job boards, with the modeling
job board format created for Independent Modeling, this is for modeling
jobs worldwide, but, realistically, most of the posts will be for modeling
job offers in the southeastern United States, for now.

This
is Florida Modeling Jobs, a free resource for finding
and booking paid modeling jobs.
Welcome to Florida
Modeling Jobs, a Florida Models
and Independent Modeling job resource web site.
This site is a completely free resource, and you do not have to pay a
dime to use our three modeling job boards or to be referred to job leads.
We are NOT a talent agency, nor do we support modeling and talent
agencies. What is the point of having a modeling job web site
if you are stuck with the modeling agencies, anyway?
This web site is for models who are looking for work in Florida on their
own, without going through a Florida modeling agency or being dependent
upon an agency. We also directly use the modeling job boards of Independent
Modeling, Florida Models, and Tampa Bay Modeling, which are all different
geographically relevant channels of what is, basically, the Independent
Modeling modeling job board.
FLORIDA MODELING JOBS - MODELING JOB OFFERS DIRECTLY FROM US
Modeling jobs for our projects and events are posted directly here on
this site. We are responsible for these modeling jobs. These jobs are
offered by us through our direct affiliates, which include, but are not
affiliated with, Aurora PhotoArts Tampa Bay Photography and Design, Tampa
Shootouts, and Tampa Workshops.
Consideration for these job offers is free, and there is no obligation
to buy anything. You will, however, need a modeling portfolio and composite
cards, as these are required. While you may contact us through email,
we require physical composite cards, a resume, and a cover letter to be
mailed directly to us in order for any model to be considered for any
of our jobs.
Models who are not experienced, and who do not have a portfolio and composite
cards, have no business trying to book work. By default, this also works
because you are competing with experienced professional models who ARE
sending us composite cards, a cover letter, and a resume. Think that you
will be able to compete with professionals?
Currently,
we have no active modeling job offers. These are coming in 2014, however.
You will be considered for any modeling jobs which are created, before
we post them, if you mail us a cover letter, composite card, and a resume
to P.O. Box 1224, Riverview, FL 33568-1224.
To check out the modeling job
offers on the three job boards of our network of modeling resource site,
check out the following links. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO THE MODELING
JOB POSTS OF THIRD PARTIES ON THESE BOARDS. For modeling jobs that we
directly offer, or for help in finding and booking modeling jobs, you
may stay on this site.
Independent
Modeling job board
The modeling jobs on the Independent Modeling job board all worldwide,
although most jobs will be for the United States of America, especially
as all of our sites are written in the English language.
Independent Modeling, founded on September 4, 2001, is the world’s
top modeling resource web site. The modeling job boards of the other sites
are all based upon Independent Modeling technology and formats, and all
of the other modeling resource web sites are Independent Modeling web
sites.
Ironically, Florida Models, which is now an Independent Modeling web site,
inspired the creation of Independent Modeling all of those years ago.
Florida
Models job board
All of the modeling jobs on the Florida Models modeling job board are
for Florida. Although these jobs can also be found on the Independent
Modeling job board, the Florida-relevant jobs will be re written and published
on the Florida Models modeling job board.
Florida Models, founded in 1996 by Kitty Kavey and Ken Horkavey, is, literally,
one of the first modeling resource web sites on the Internet. It inspired
the other modeling resource sites in the industry today. It was one of
the top modeling resource sites throughout the first era.
Five years after its founding, Florida Models inspired the creation and
the launch of Independent Modeling. The founder and director of Independent
Modeling, C. A. Passinault, learned about the modeling industry from Kitty
and Ken, as well as their web site, Florida Models.
On September 27, 2012, Florida Models and its sister site, Florida Actors,
was taken over by Independent Modeling, and became an Independent Modeling
web site. By then, Independent Modeling technology had far exceeded what
Florida Models was using, and that technology enhanced the older web site.
Tampa
Bay Modeling job board
Modeling jobs published on the modeling job board of Tampa Bay Modeling
is for the Tampa Bay region of Florida. These same job offers are also
published on Florida Models, since they are also relevant to Florida,
although they are written differently for each site which they are cross
published on.
Tampa Bay Modeling was founded by a group of models who were inspired
by Independent Modeling and Florida Models on October 18, 2004. By 2006,
Independent Modeling took over operations of Tampa Bay Modeling, and by
2008, Tampa Bay Modeling was one of the top, and most advanced, modeling
resource sites in the world.
Like Florida Models, Tampa Bay Modeling is an Independent Modeling web
site. For media interviews in the Tampa Bay area, Independent Modeling
goes through it Tampa Bay Modeling site.
This
site is used to market paid modeling job opportunities to established
professional models. It will also serve as a marketing and promotional
platform. It will use the Athena Shootouts events of Tampa Shootouts,
administered by Aurora PhotoArts and Tampa Bay Modeling, as working auditions
to clear these models for modeling jobs and workshops offered by us and
our partners. The Florida Modeling Jobs site will link to, and directly
utilize, the modeling job boards of Independent Modeling, Florida Models,
and Tampa Bay Modeling. The industry web sites will lend support. Aurora
PhotoArts will also advertise on the site, although there is no obligation
to buy any services to be considered for any job. The modeling jobs, which
will primarily consist of modeling photography workshops and shootout
events, will be offered in late 2014, although the Florida Modeling Jobs
site, and the working auditions, will begin in early 2014.
Florida
Modeling Jobs is not an agency, nor are we affiliated with any modeling
or talent agencies. We do not employ bookers, and do not operate as any
kind of talent agency. This is a free modeling job resource site to be
specifically used to book subcontracted professional models into the modeling
jobs of our projects, or to be used by models to find modeling job opportunities
through our affiliated modeling job boards. These services are absolutely
free; we do not charge models or the third-party modeling job commission.
Modeling work, however, is not guaranteed, but models have no chance of
booking any of our modeling jobs if they do not go through the proper
submission and evaluation process.
To be considered
for our modeling jobs, professional models are required to submit a current
composite card, a resume, and a cover letter to P.O. Box 1224, Riverview
FL 33568-1224.
If models do not have physical copies of any of these items, we may still
consider them, but this is entirely up to our decision, and it would be
an exception to the rule.
There is no charge to be considered for any modeling job, nor to be evaluated.
If any “modeling job” requires you to pay anything to be considered,
or to buy anything to be considered, we recommend avoiding them, as it
would be a modeling job scam. There are a lot of modeling scams out there,
and one of our missions is to help models recognize and avoid scams.
If anyone considering a model for a modeling job requires them to be photographed
without clothing, or provocatively, even if the ultimate modeling job
is for that, we recommend avoiding them. If you specialize in high-risk
modeling, you need to be properly, and appropriately, compensated for
such work, as you assume the risks, and the photographer would receive
the benefit. Don’t get taken advantage of. Be careful!
Models being considered for mainstream modeling jobs need to be at least
18 years of age, and are required to have a genuine photo I.D. and at
least two other forms of identification. This information will be documented
for our records, but will be kept private, and will be for internal use
only. Models under the age of 18 may be considered for these jobs, but
are required to have the full participation of their parent or legal guardian,
and that parent or legal guardian must be present at all times while the
model is being evaluated or is working. All communication and the decision
process of models under the age of 18 must be done through their parent
or legal guardian, as models who are minors have no legal standing, and
cannot enter into any agreement, nor make any decisions on their own.
Models under the age of 18 will NOT be considered for any high-risk modeling
jobs, which include, but is not limited to, glamour, boudoir, lingerie,
modeling in skimpy bikinis, or modeling provocatively. Modeling must be
age-appropriate. Models under 18 are not permitted to work modeling jobs
which are used to market alcohol, tobacco, or any business which is marketed
to and limited to anyone over the age of 18.
There is no obligation
to buy any products or services to use this site, which is a free modeling
resource for professional independent models. Models are considered for
our jobs and projects regardless of if they book our services or not.
To be considered for modeling jobs, however, models have to be professional
models who have current portfolios, composite cards, and experience.
If you are a new model with little to no experience, and do not have a
portfolios, comps, or other professional tools, you will need to invest
in those and earn the right to be considered for modeling work, as you
have no business trying to book modeling jobs if you are not a professional
model. Again, investment in those mandatary career tools does not have
to be through us or our affiliates. Experience needs to be with professionals,
however, but it does not have to be with us or anyone else affiliated
with us.
Models are only as marketable as their career tools, which include modeling
portfolios and comps. If models expect to be able to compete with other
professional models for paying modeling jobs, they will have to invest
in professional, professionally relevant career tools. There is simply
no getting around this reality. Modeling is a business, and you will only
get out of a business what you put into it.
Models who operate from free online modeling portfolio networking site
profiles or social media sites with amateur pictures will be equally considered,
as we will take your word for it if you tell us that you are an experienced
professional, but the reality is that you probably will not even get asked
to a go-see (working audition) for our jobs, as we have plenty of experienced
professionals to consider, and, realistically, you will not be able to
compete with them.
Likewise, professional models need to be responsible and to be as marketable
as possible. Although we do have glamour modeling jobs from time to time,
models who have high-risk work in their portfolios, such as glamour, boudoir,
and lingerie, probably will not be able to compete with models who are
more marketable (i.e. models who do not have work out their which may
conflict with the standards and the marketing strategy of the company
offering the modeling job) in any modeling jobs which are mainstream (i.e.
family-friendly and mass marketable). Models who model skimpy bikinis
and who pose provocatively will also have a more difficult time booking
most modeling jobs. It’s fine if you are a glamour or a swimsuit
model who wishes to specialize in this and who accepts the risks, but
the bottom line is that you will make it more difficult to compete with
models who have more marketable portfolios and more relevant work experience.
Since pictures cannot be undone, we seriously ask that models avoid high-risk
modeling work if they wish to be as marketable as possible, and if they
wish to compete with other professional models.
Our modeling jobs, which include, but are not limited to, events, workshops,
modeling photography shootout events, fashion shows, runway modeling,
print work, and promotional modeling, have high standards. We are looking
for the best professional models to book into our jobs and projects.
All prospective models who are being considered for modeling jobs are
required to be evaluated.
Florida Modeling Jobs is not a modeling and talent agency. We are not
affiliated with any talent agencies. We either book models directly into
our projects, which makes us the actual job, or refer models free of charge
to modeling jobs through the modeling job boards on our modeling resource
web sites.
